Software company signs ONE Community’s UNITY Pledge in support of equal treatment in employment, housing and public accommodations
Phoenix, Ariz. – November 20th, 2019 – MINDBODY, the leading technology platform for the wellness industry, has signed the UNITY Pledge in support of full inclusion and equality in employment, housing, and public accommodations for all Arizonans, including gay and transgender people.
MINDBODY joins over 20,000 individuals and over 3,200 businesses including GoDaddy, Yelp, American Airlines, the Arizona Diamondbacks, PetSmart, Fry’s Food Stores, and Coca-Cola in supporting a fully inclusive Arizona. Currently, only five Arizona cities have ordinances that ban discrimination; however, Arizona lacks statewide laws that protect people from being fired based on their sexual orientation, gender identity, or discriminated against in housing and public accommodations.
“We are proud to be an inclusive company,” said Michelle Berlin, Senior Vice President of People and Culture at MINDBODY. “Signing the UNITY Pledge is an embodiment of our core values to recognize and cherish the humanity in all people by respecting everyone so we can all learn and grow together.”
“We are grateful for the opportunity to welcome an innovative company like MINDBODY into the UNITY Pledge family,” said ONE Community and ONE Community Foundation President and Co-Founder, Angela Hughey. “We are thankful for they are joining our movement to create an Arizona that is open for business to everyone,” concluded Hughey.
Created by ONE Community, a member-based coalition of socially responsible businesses, organizations and individuals who support diversity, inclusion and equality for all Arizonans, the UNITY Pledge is a public declaration to support and advance workplace equality and non-discrimination policies in housing and public accommodations for all Arizonans, including gay and transgender Arizonans.
