ONE Community, the coalition of socially responsible businesses, organizations and individuals advancing diversity, inclusion, equity, and equality for all Arizonans, is proud to announce the 2022 Honorees for the eleventh annual Spotlight on Success Local Heroes Awards to be held on Friday October 28th, 2022, at the Sheraton Grand Phoenix.

This year’s Unity Agent honor is awarded to Kimber Lanning, Founder and CEO of Local First Arizona. As the leader of the largest coalition of locally owned businesses in North America, Lanning’s work has transformed Arizona's local economy in a drastic way, creating a movement of local investment and capacity building. She has also been a longtime leader in advancing equity, inclusion, and diversity, understanding the nexus between equality and economic success. Under her leadership, Local First Arizona was the very first organization to sign the UNITY Pledge in 2013 and partnered with ONE Community on the effort to secure a veto on SB1062 in 2014. Since then, Lanning has been a vocal supporter of every pro LGBTQ+ ordinance and law in Arizona, speaking at press conferences, testifying at policy hearings, and educating and activating her members and networks about the importance of LGBTQ+ inclusion to Arizona’s future. Lanning’s actionable allyship and dedication to an Arizona that is open for business to everyone makes her ONE Community’s 2022 Unity Agent.

This year’s Local Heroes honorees come from a diverse cross-section of our community, but what they all have in common is their dedication to ensuring Arizona celebrates, respects, and protects all who live and work in our great state through their efforts and actions:

The recognition and special awards will take place at a luncheon scheduled for Friday, October 28th from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with a networking cocktail reception to follow from 1:30 - 3:00pm at the Sheraton Grand Phoenix, 340 N. 3rd Street, Phoenix.
